Deeslop

Slop Rules 2026-08-23 · in force now

How Deeslop decides.

Three rules, in the order they run. This page says what each one catches and — more usefully — what it deliberately does not.

Known-good runs first, and always wins.

Before any rule judges a name, Deeslop checks it against the Known-good list. That is why ANKER, UGREEN and BASEUS survive a filter aimed at names that read as keysmash. Your own un-hides join the same list, on your machine, and outrank us.

One exception, stated plainly: an un-hidden brand still gets removed when the row is a sponsored placement. Amazon labelled that itself.

Rules that need our server

Rules 1 and 2 ship inside the extension. If our server is unreachable they still run, and the Receipt says the review-history check was unavailable.

The three rules.

1

Sponsored

Local. Runs in your browser, no server involved.

Amazon labels its own paid placements. Deeslop looks for that label in the several shapes Amazon ships it in, rather than guessing from position on the page.

what it removes

  • Paid slots at the top, middle and bottom of a results page.
  • Sponsored brand blocks and carousels inside the result list.
  • Any row carrying Amazon's own sponsored label, whatever its layout.

what it does not

  • A paid placement Amazon has not labelled. We do not guess.
  • Amazon's own first-party promotion of its own brands.
  • Sponsored placements on other Amazon domains. Only www.amazon.com is supported.

the line it writes on the Receipt

Sponsored. Amazon sold this slot; you did not ask for it.

2

Shell brands

Local. Runs in your browser, no server involved.

A score for one narrow, checkable claim: the name matches the shape a trademark farm generates, and nothing on the Known-good list vouches for it. We never claim a company is fake.

what it removes

  • Single-token names of 4 to 11 letters with almost no vowels.
  • Names with 4 or more consonants in a row, or no vowel in the first 3 letters.
  • Names built from letter pairs that occur in no English word.
  • Three or more of the rarest letters — J, Q, X, Z, V, W — crammed into one name.

what it does not

  • Anything on the Known-good list. That check runs first and always wins.
  • Multi-word names. Real companies name themselves "Klein Tools" and "Joseph Joseph".
  • Names under 4 or over 11 letters. Too short to read, or long enough to be words.
  • A pronounceable shell brand. A name that reads like English passes this rule, and some do.

the line it writes on the Receipt

KLIMVX — 17% vowels, 3 consonants in a row. Not on the Known-good list.

3

Laundered reviews

Server. One judgment per listing, cached forever, reused by everyone.

Ratings a listing did not earn. A seller keeps a listing that accumulated thousands of reviews and swaps the product underneath it, or merges unrelated variations so the scores pool into one number.

what it removes

  • A listing whose product was swapped under an older review history.
  • Unrelated variations merged so one score covers several products.
  • Review dates arriving in tight clusters rather than spread over the listing's life.

what it does not

  • A listing we have never been asked about. The file is built one listing at a time.
  • Paid or incentivised reviews on a listing that has always sold the same thing. That is a different problem and we do not claim to solve it.
  • Anything, when our server is unreachable. The Receipt says so instead of guessing.

the line it writes on the Receipt

Reviews inherited from a phone case listing. Product swapped 4 Mar 2025.

Audit rule 2 yourself.

Type any brand name. This runs the exact scoring function the extension runs, in your browser, and shows every point it awarded.

Try KLIMVX, then ANKER, then HOMLYX — which rule 2 keeps.

This is a claim about the shape of a name, not about a company. A removal is never a claim of wrongdoing, and every one of them un-hides in one click.

The Known-good list.

169 manufacturers that exist off Amazon. Every one has its own site and sells through retailers that are not Amazon. None of them can be removed by rule 2.

Corrections, in public.

When we get a brand wrong, the fix is logged here with the date. The worst outcome for a shopper is a good product we hid, so this list is meant to grow.

  1. 24 Aug 2026

Rule 2 removed Wüsthof, a knife forge trading since 1814. Accented letters were being deleted rather than flattened, so "Wüsthof" was read as "WSTHOF" — a name with no vowels. Fixed, and 9 manufacturers we already vouch for were added to the Known-good list.

  2. 23 Aug 2026

Our own pitch used SOKANY as an example of a shell brand. It is not one. SOKANY has its own wholesale site and 4 US trademark filings, and it is now on the Known-good list.

  3. 23 Aug 2026

Added 18 sourced brand files, and the manufacturers in them, to the Known-good list after checking each one off Amazon.
